Bright orange is one of those really good attention grabbing colors. It resists being  used in a subtle way, is never reticent, or decorous, or delicate. Orange is a vulgar color, more than a little pushy, but one cannot keep away from it. In this painting, I use the orange in a naturalistic fashion, to describe the intensity of a Fall sunset in Prospect park, Brooklyn NY.

I painted four to five layers in different times to create the rich texture and color’s interaction.
