Original oil on canvas with frame 42"x50"x2", 2024
“Path of Early Light” is inspired by a morning walk through Prospect Park, where the air felt crisp and full of promise. A winding road gently leads the viewer forward, inviting them into the quiet mystery of the trees. It’s a path not just through a park, but through light, time, and imagination.
I was drawn to the brightness of the moment — the vivid greens, glowing yellows, and the shimmer of fresh light dancing on the leaves. There’s a clarity here, a sense of openness, like the world has just awakened and is quietly waiting.
This piece was built layer by layer, using a wet-on-dry technique. Each new stage allowed the colors to settle, to breathe, and to emerge more fully. The road became the painting’s heartbeat — a simple line guiding the eye deeper, suggesting movement, story, and wonder.
I hope this painting invites a sense of hope and discovery, like stepping into the day with light at your back and endless possibilities ahead.
