Out walking and singing of warm afternoon,
Here the mist and leaves abound.
Marine Park, Brooklyn is just a couple blocks from my house. I go there almost everyday and observe the colors change over time. I tried to paint how I feel the colors change over time instead the moment. It took me a month to finish from start to finish.
Bright orange and yellow are one of those really good attention-grabbing colors. They are vulgar colors, more than a little pushy, but one can not keep away from them. They are relate wonderfully with cool blue and purple, like in this painting.
I like to paint the complexity of colors with a variety of strokes, layer after layer. From start to finish, each painting may take more than a month. I paint mainly with the palette knife to produce heavy textures and occasionally, in my final touches, use a brush.
