The brimming waver delight the eyes on sunny day,
Spring air pours across the green and glassy water.
Ideas for poems sway in the shadows of the tree,
My dream spirit rows to the sound of the wind.
When I look at the tree, it is never the tree by itself that engages me, but the way it grows out of the land, the way the sky surrounds it, and how the horizon is interrupted by the tree’s silhouette. The artist’s feelings are projected onto each painting. Each painting is like a silent poem.
I like to paint the complexity of colors with a variety of strokes, layer after layer. From start to finish, each painting may take more than a month. I paint mainly with the palette knife to produce heavy textures and occasionally, in my final touches, use a brush.
