“Deep in he frost no one else know,

Until the bright sun looks own.”

In this painting, I did not try to describe the senses and just let the colors sing for themself. When I paint, I always try to study the relationship between color and light. The color should not just attract the eye. It should be a conversation that promotes discovery. Color that has been used successfully does not draw attention to itself. It makes you discover it. Painting is a mode of organizing perception rather than describing something. Color used in an uncontrolled way, without proper concern for the tone and structure of a painting, comes across as garish.

I paint mainly with the palette knife to build up the texture and blend the colors.
